Join Our Team
Due to high demand, The Atlanta Center for EMDR is frequently in need of licensed psychotherapists who are interested in working with our practice.
Our ideal candidates are therapists who have already completed the EMDRIA basic training, hold at least an LAPC or LMSW license, and are willing to see clients in-person in Athens, Decatur, Marietta, or Lawrenceville.
Please note that we are very selective of the therapists that we choose to work with, and that for applicants to be selected for interviews, they will need to provide strong educational, professional, and character references, particularly in trauma therapy settings.
Please email your resume to wsmith@atlantaemdr.org if interested. Again, you MUST, at minimum, possess a LAPC or LMSW license (you will not receive a response if it is not abundantly obvious that you are a licensed therapist)
Get Trained in EMDR in Atlanta
The Atlanta Center for EMDR participates with various training programs that come to Atlanta to provide Basic EMDR training, which is a required step for providers who wish to begin practicing EMDR.
Our preferred company to work with at this time is EMDR Consulting. Please email Dr. Carole Lovell - who is an EMDRIA approved trainer through EMDR Consulting - if you are interested in participating in a Basic EMDR training. While trainings in Atlanta are scheduled regularly, Dr. Lovell is also willing to host trainings based on need, and keeps a running list of how many providers are looking for training in a period of time.
Please also be aware that The Atlanta Center for EMDR does not directly host trainings. Our role is simply to assist in facilitating trainings in Atlanta. We do have a much larger role in working with Atlanta-based providers in becoming skilled EMDR therapists on an on-going basis once they have completed their basic training.
As such, we do ask that any questions about participating in an EMDR basic training be sent directly to Dr. Lovell.
If you are a company that hosts trainings in Atlanta and would like to have your event posted on our website, please email wsmith@atlantaemdr.org
